Winter Olympics 2014 to be held in Russia
The 2010 Winter Olympics may have passed, but it’s never too early to start thinking about the next one in 2014!
The 2014 Winter Olympics will be held in Sochi, Russia. The other two cities that were selected as finalists for the Olympics were Salzburg, Austria, and Pyeongchang, South Korea. The unique aspect of the 2014 Olympics is that Sochi is the first city with a subtropical climate to host the winter games, and the games will be held near the Black Sea.
The destination for the 2018 Winter Olympics has yet to be announced, but some of the cities hoping to host include Pyeongchang, South Korea; Annecy, France; and Munich, Germany. The decision for the 2018 location will be announced in July 2011.
